Technology Infusion

Technology infusion is the revolutionary key to ensuring student achievement and learning. Knowing this:

  1. Did creating the Facebook page help you to understand the characters, the plot, and the themes of The Most Lamentable and Excellent Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet?

  2. If you had the option to do this again, would you? Why or why not?

  1. I think that by making the facebook pagefor Romeo did help me a little bit to get to know more about the character. It helped me to in away be put into his shoes and see how saw things. I understood that Romeo can be very sensitive and careing, and i aswell can be that from time to time.

Also i learned that Romeo loves very strongly and does anything to get to that love no matter how hard of a task it may be. On My facebook even married one of my classmates that was Juliet(ashley). When i would read her notes or status, i would help me get the complete mind set of how Romeo and Juliet felt. That had help me to make a note and status about Juliet. If i could do it again i think i would.

This is because i really liked doing this project for english and Romeo & Juliet's story was one of my favorites this whole year. It had helped me to fully understand their amazing love. I would like to have love that strong for a person just like theirs( except the whole dying part... im not doing that).

Also i would do it again because i loved your english class and wish you could teach sophmores. I had really learned a lot and will miss your class!

  3. I enjoyed the idea of a Facebook page as an assignment was a phenominal idea. It was great to update our stauses and friending others by the way the book was written. It really helped me understand it more.

I would love to do it again. I extremely enjoyed the project. Since we are so much into technology, it was right in our zone.

  5. Yes, from the entire book explaining I have had from different teachers the facebook page helped me understand The Most Lamentable and Excellent Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, how she felt and how she would act. Also, if I had an opportunity later on I would also make a facebook page to feel, and acts like the character.

  6. 1. yes it did sort of help me understand the things that went on through romeo and juliet by making a facebook because it was put into real life situatins. for example us, as children, go on facebook and talk to girls and by making the romeo and juliet fb account, it shows there life style in "our way" or "lifestyle".
    2. if i could, i would do it again because like i said before, it helps me understand the situation in a moderate form or way.

  7. `1.)I think creating a facebook for one of the characters of Romeo and Juliet kinda sort of helped me. I think so because I found out more information about my character that i chose that i never knew before. ^__^

`2.)If I had the chance I would do it again Probably because it was an educational event that helped me understand more about Romeo and Juliet also Shakespeare. I also was my most favorite Shakespearean play.

  8. Creating a Facebook page help me understand the characters, the plot, and the themes of the most lamentable and excellent tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. It helped me understand my character’s point of view, who he and his friends are and what was like being in there situation. This situation was really serious to them. Creating a Facebook page about Benvolio helped me to get to know this character.

No, I would not create a Facebook page if I had the option on doing this again. I already understand the story and I don’t think that I would know something else about them. It was a good story and the movie made in 1996 was excellent but I still would not do a Facebook page about one of the characters of Romeo and Juliet.

  9. It kind of helped me understand the plot and other things of Romeo and Juliet. It was a very creative project that I enjoyed and would love too do later in life. It helped me understand how it must have been back in the days and how hard it was for too people that "love" each other too be together.

  10. •I feel that the Facebook project was a great way to help us understand more about Romeo and Juliet. It was a good idea because it's a way to connect learning with something that teen agers enjoy doing these days. Wich is being on the internet. I really enjoyed it because it was fun getting into character and trying to see threw Juliets eyes.

    • If I had the option to do it again i would most definitly do it again. First of all because I would add more creativity than I already added, and it helped me to understand what was going on threw the story alot better. Not to mention it was something I really enjoyed.

  11. The facebook project really did help me to understand what was happening in the play of Romeo & Juliet. Pretending to be juliet & becoming her character helped me alot more than just reading the story.

If the opportunity came up to do another facebook project I would adore to do it again. not only was it fun, but helped me understand alot more about the story.

  12. 1. Yes, creating the Face book page helped me to understand the characters, the plot, and the themes of The Most Lamentable and Excellent Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. It helped me out a lot and I basically stepped into their shoes for a while. The conversations also helped because I felt like I lived during their time or the time the play was written which was good. I felt confident about this play and I bet I could get an “A” on a pop quiz any day.
    2. If I had the option I would do this again. I like interacting with others, especially over the internet and we are allowed to work together which is a huge helper whenever I’m confused about something. It basically was an easy “A” for me and this assignment was really fun. I’m glad I did it.

  13. The Facebook did help me out in understanding Romeo and Juliet. It helped me understand to be in there position.Having a conversation with Romeo and his friends. Being able to connect with them and act like them.
I would want to it again. It was an easy A and it was easier fro me to understand the characters and be in there shoes. It was fun to do and keep me busy.I understood why she killed herself and why he killed himself. It made me understand the project and the ideal point of it.I am glad i took part in it.

  14. Creating the Facebook page helped me understand the characters, the plot, and the themes of The Most Lamentable and Excellent Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. How it helped me was that was when we needed to write in our status about events that happenend in the story it helped me understand a little more about what the character I chose was experiencing. It made me understand what the character was saying in the story. If I had the option to do this again i would because doing this facebook project helped me understand the characters, setting, and the plot in the story. If every project was like this then it would help me and all the other students that are doing this assignment. This is how the facebook project helped me.

  15. Well creating a facebook page for romeo and Juliet did help me to get a bigger picture. I was able to relate to Juliet's character better than ever. The facebook page also was a better way to show how every thing went down. it was a very good thing creating a page for a specific character and actually being in their position for once

  16. Yes i think that making this facebook page really helped understand their character a bit more. it really made me think more about the actual emotions they had experienced.

if ii had a chance to do this again i probably would because it was kinda fun setting it all up. i"m surprised that this was actually a pretty fun project because most projects I've had were boring or such a drag. This project made think very carefully about the true character of Juliet.

  17. I think the facebook project did help me understand the whole situation of Romeo and Juliet. Also help me understand the things that people do for love. I would do this again, because our generation are so comfortable with the use of technology.

  18. 1.creating the Facebook page help me to understand the characters, the plot, and the themes of The Most Lamentable and Excellent Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet because by creating the facebook page, it makes understand more about my character and there background of the story and aslo where their coming from when its comes to the plot of the story.its gives me a better understanding about the story and why it happened.

2.if i could do this again i would because if i could get my whole background from my character, i could understand way more from anothers character point of view.

I don't really think that making the facebook page made a difference towards me understanding the characters, the plot, and the themes of The Most Lamentable and Excellent Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, because I've already watched the movie and had prier knowledge towards it.
If I had the option to do this again, I Wouldn't mind doing it again because we're using a play in the 18th century and expressing their feelings using modern technology (social networking sites ).

  20. 1. creating a facebook page did not help in fact i couldn't creat my page because i wasn't elligable to create one. i think the movie helped more.
    2. i wouldn't ever do this again.

  21. 1.Using Facebook as a learning tool really increased my knowledge. It made he read more and more as i did this project. It help me understand more of the feelings that "Romeo and Juliet" had going besides watching the movie and the play. So yes it helped me a lot.

    2. Yes, If i had this option i would try it again because it's a easy learning tool and it helped more than i thought it would.

  22. 1. By creating the Facebook page really helped me learn more about my character ( Romeo). It helped me understand more about his family members and who he truely was. It's a great tool to understand characters other than reading and/ or watching a movie.

    2. Yes, if i had an option of doing a Facebook page once again i would, because it helps a lot and i'm used to the concept.

  23. 1. Even though I did not participate in the facebook project it seem to have been a wonderful idea. According to my classmates it was very helpful on geting to know their characters. It is cool how we can get to know our characters and have fun at the same time.

    2. This is something that we should do again because it is a fun way for everyone to have a better understanding of the play. The most coolest thing about this project is that we are using modern technology to learn about one of Shakespeare most famous play.

  24. 1 . Yes creating the facebook page did help me . i had already watched the movie before attending Arts High School . when Mr . Cumberbatch decided we would watch it i thought that i had already seen it & i didnt need to watch it again . But after doing the facebook project , it opened my eyes. It showed me what i had missed when i previously discussed Romeo and Juliet/

2 If i had the option to do this again , yes i would. Just like how i learned new things the first time , i could most likely learn some more things the second go round.

  25. 1.Yes creating that facebook page for romeo & juliet did help us as students allot. It helped us understand what happened in the play/story.
2.If i had the option to do this again,I would because i learned lots of things from this project such as learning how to use the internet more etc.

  26. I think by making the facebook page didn't help at all by reading and watching the movie was a good source.People wouldn't add me so i couldn't even finish it. I really didn't enjoy the project.

  27. Myrtha said : no the facebook didnt help . i rather sick to the book and the movie. I didnt really get the whole point of the facebook project . I only understood Romeo and Juliet by reading the book and watching the movie.
Yes if i had a chance i would totally do this again because it's very fun and sad at the same time. I also loved how it was about love becuase i adore ove stories so basically that is why I would gladly to it again . Plus, I love my class and all my surroundings. :)

  28. 1.) No it did'nt help me with understanding the characters because i already knew about the play, and it was self-explainitory.
2.)No, i would not do this agian. This was my third time doing this ( Creating a page for a character or object ), however it has become un-exciting to me.

  29. for me no it did not help not one bit. i really dont like reading and i think reading would have been the best way for me to understand romeo and juliet. Acual watching the movie really help me to understand the wole story.
If i had a chance to do this again i would not because it is too difficult.
by the way sorry for being late

  30. Jada . . .
Facebook really didnt help me as much but if i had too do it again then i will because its a grade . to be very honest.

  31. 1.) Yes, this project did help me understand Romeo and Juliet. It showed what the characters went through and how they were related to each other. The only flaws in the project were the facts that students without a computer wouldn't be able to do the project due to the blocking of facebook in school and that creating a fake character on facebook is against their Terms of Service which made it difficult to put the names into facebook. My account was almost deleted.

2.) If I had the option to do this again I definetely would. (Even though my account has the chance of being deleted again. xD) Hopefully the next time I would be able to pick a character that I wanted instead of being nice letting my friend get the one I was hoping for. xD

  32. 1.) It didn't help to clarify the characters or the story. Reading the book over, and over actually helped clarify it better because I ended up finding more and more bits and pieces of the story that helped me understand better.

2.) Yes, I would do it again if everyone was in a type of assigned group. Because if we did this there wouldn't actually be any confusion on who is which character and where do I find their account. With this, it would have been easier for us to be in sync to our project. But I think the idea is pretty COOL! It’s almost like painting, you have trial and error when you can’t get the color you specifically want; but when you get it the right way, it just flows along with the painting.

  33. 1. Yes this assignment did. When i had to write and describe the person i chose, i had to know things about them. Such as his relationship status or what his name was and what it did to him. As a result i was able to get a better understanding of the conflict of the story.
    2. If i was able to I would probably do this project again. I enjoyed acting as if I was Romeo and everything was happening to me. It gave me a better understanding of it all and i got out more new infromation that i didn't know before.
